The thousands of tourists that visited us at the beginning of the sixties, and the twenty-five million plus that are visiting now, do so with the same certainty, they know that they are going to enjoy Andalucía intensely, our beaches, our people, our cities and our parties.
A certainty that has positioned Andalucía as one of the most important and resilient destinations on the international panorama, and has made the tourism sector an important source of employment and wealth.
Our position did not come free, it is the result of a vision of the future and the combined efforts of all of the people who have been involved over the years. To look back and see what we have done is satisfying, but it is better still to be able to maintain that pioneering spirit, anticipating the future.
This is what Andalucia Lab is offering, a project resulting from public and private cooperation, that bets on the knowledge, talent, the results of the efforts and the daily participation of the professionals in defining and developing their activities.
This is an innovative and ambitious concept: 4 tourism innovation laboratories that work in conjunction with one another and areas of massive knowledge transference capable of being able to benefit the largest possible amount of tourism SME's and ensuring that tourism continues to be one of the main motors of social and economic development in Andalucía.
There could not be a more appropriate time to put the Andalucia Lab project in place, the changes in the tourism scene have created a situation for innovation to be placed among the main priorities for all of the people involved in the sector.
A situation that coincides with the governments objective of positioning Andalucía as a model of sustainable development, an objective that is a necessity for the tourism sector because of its economic importance and the projection of future activity.
Andalucia Lab is therefore a timely, necessary and well defined project which has two main challenges: involve the tourism employers in developing innovation policies which directly concern them and transform them into the most important innovation officers.
This website wants to be a reflection of our action wish list: a live space, open to communication, full of useful services and relevant information. By definition, a meeting place resulting from efforts of all of the people involved in this sector.
